Sequoia Chamber Music Workshop

The Sequoia Chamber Music Workshop is offering a $300/session scholarship to all EBYO members to attend this summer's Sequoia Chamber Music Workshop on the beautiful campus of Cal-Poly Humboldt in the redwoods!  Sequoia only accepts string, woodwind, French horn and piano players

Dates: June 16-June 22, 2024           

Every camper participant will be placed in four different chamber groups over the week and perform in nightly performances under our nationally recognized chamber music faculty from all around the country!  Day trips to the redwoods and beach are also planned.  Participants may either stay in the college dorms and eat in the dining room on campus, or in the area at local Air B&Bs, regional parks, or motels in the area with their families.  EBYO members do not need to complete an audition!

JENNY LIN FOUNDATION

Each summer, the Foundation sponsors a free music program for Bay Area youth musicians to express their musical talents while forging friendships in a safe and caring environment.  In the music program, students can

  • Meet new friends and have lots of fun

  • Enjoy a great musical experience. Band and orchestra are open to 8th graders and up

  • Have opportunities for full or partial scholarships from East Bay Youth Orchestra (EBYO) and Mission Peak Wind Symphony (MPWS)

  • Participate in community service

Dates:  Monday, June 10 – Saturday, July 13, 2024

Rehearsals on Monday, Wednesday, and some Thursday evenings from 6:45 – 9:00 p.m.
Rehearsal Location:  Creekside Middle School, Castro Valley

Mandatory Concert:  Saturday, July 13, 2024, 6:30 p.m.

Open to band and orchestra students currently in 8th grade and up (current 7th graders with their school director’s approval), and choir students currently in 7th grade and up.  Band and orchestra students must have at least these skills to participate.

NASATIR SCHOOL OF PERCUSSION

At the Nasatir School of Percussion, you will receive a customized percussion education that is both challenging, yet comfortably paced. We specialize in orchestral percussion with a fully equipped studio that includes: four timpani, marimba, bells, xylophone, vibraphone, drumset, and countless auxiliary instruments. Teaching students of all ages and abilities since 1965, our students play with more feeling, musicality, and understanding, as a result of our proven teaching methods. The Nasatir School of Percussion is conveniently located in Castro Valley.

HAYWARD - LA HONDA MUSIC CAMP 

Hayward La Honda Music Camp Make music in the redwoods of the Santa Cruz mountains with stellar conducting and music faculty. Build friendships that will last. Have fun in the beautiful setting of the YMCA Camp Jones Gulch in La Honda, CA. 

Join us this summer for our music-making extravaganza July 13 - July 20, 2024. This is a residential camp, so you will sleep on site; all meals and lodging are included in the cost! Take advantage of our early bird discount of $995 by registering for camp before May 1, which is the date that the cost will increase. The application is very simple and no auditions are required!

Camp is available to students in grades 6–12. We will accept you if you’re going into the 6th grade in the fall or if this will be the summer after your senior year in high school. 

Two scholarships, each worth half the price of camp attendance (one for a junior camper, one for a senior camper) will be awarded to two EBYO students via a lottery to be announced.  Visit our website for more details: www.la honda music camp.com.  Please see La Honda Flyer.

 

Cazadero Music Camp

Cazadero Music Camp welcomes the members of the East Bay Youth Orchestra to participate in our Summer Music Camp by offering orchestra members a $100 discount off our summer camp fees for the 2024 summer season.  This discount can only be used once per camper and cannot be combined with other discounts or scholarship offers.

At Cazadero Music Camp, we offer several age-based camp sessions for musicians entering the 5th - 12th grades.  Camp sessions begin the week of June 17 and the last camp session ends on Saturday August 3.  To find the right camp session for your musician, take a look at the 2024 Schedule and Fees information on our website.  The How To Register page of our website has all of the information you need to register your musician for camp.  To receive the discount,  please contact our office by telephone at 510.527.7500 or by email at info@cazadero.org after you submit your registration form so that we can apply it to your registration.
